Oh Really?

George W. Bush

What do we need intelligence for? My answer to that is we have plenty of enemies. Proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, terrorism. These and more. Many more. To combat them we need more intelligence, not less. We need more human intelligence. That means we need more protection for the methods we use to gather intelligence and more protection for our sources, particularly our human sources, people that are risking their lives for their country. I have nothing but contempt and anger for those who betray the trust by exposing the name of our sources. They are, in my view, the most insidious, of traitors…
~ George W. Bush (1946-07-06 age:71), speech at the Dedication Ceremony for the George Bush Center for Intelligence, 1999-04-26

The streets in Basra and Baghdad are sure to erupt in joy in the same way the throngs in Kabul greeted the Americans.

It’s hard to conceive that it would take more forces to provide stability in post-Saddam Iraq than it would take to conduct the war itself and secure the surrender of Saddam’s security forces and his army. Hard to imagine.
~ Paul Wolfowitz (1943-12-22 age:74) 2003-02-27
