George Bush speakes Orwellian

Orwellian Sleight Of Mouth

Much of what Bush says is drooling idiocy, but also much of it is malicious Orwellian language. Here are some examples.

apprehended terrist: A prisoner of war when the American side did the capturing.
Clear Skies initiative: guts the clean air act allowing companies to pollute.
compassionate conservativism: means nuking countries who have not attacked or even provoked you and stealing all their resources.
co-lateral damage: When Americans kill non-American civilians, even when they do it deliberately. See terrorism.
democracy: A pro-American puppet government
freedom: When the president has the freedom to put anyone in jail for as long as he wants without having to even give a reason.
Healthy Forests Initiative: hands stewardship of the forests over to the logging industry and allows renewed cutting of old growth forests.
Helping the Environment: means letting survival of the fittest (namely Republican businessmen) wipe out endangered species.
Homeland Security: Spying on your neighbours
hostage: a prisoner of war when the other side did the capturing.
imminent threat: Some guy who would like us to drop dead, who has no weapons and no money.
New Freedom Initiative: mass forced drugging of school children
No Drilling In National Parks: means no parade drills. Drilling for oil is fine, especially in the Padre Island National Seashore or in Alaskan nature preserves.
Patriot Act: Abrogating all the freedoms in the constitution.
terrorism: Anything the other guy does you don’t like, especially killing civilians or soldiers. See co-lateral damage.
