What’s With The Moose? One answer is that I live in British Columbia, Canada. My Dad used to shoot moose and make us eat them. Yuchh! Mom was always inventing recipes to try to disguise the taste. The real answer is that the original name of CMP was Consolidated Moose Pasture. When we were kids we imagined we would have a company of our own when we grew up. We took the name from Jimmy Hatlo’s comic strip There Oughta Be A Law. The new name, Canadian Mind Products, came to me in a moment of blind panic when BYTE Magazine asked me on the phone what the letters CMP stood for. I thought they would not publish my article on Abundance if they knew the truth. "Canadian… Mind…" "Mine? Are you in mining?" "No mind as in brain." "Oh" "… Products" I chose the domain name mindprod.com both as short for Mind Products, and for mind-prod, like a brain-prod to get people to think afresh for themselves. cmp.com was already taken.
