JSON : Java Glossary

JSON
JSON (Java Script Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format. It looks much like a JavaScript program. It is less fluffy than XML (extensible Markup Language) since in uses } instead of named tags to mark the ends of grous. It supports arrays and hashmaps. It does not have schemas. The format looks very much like JavaScript source code. The grammar is remarkably simple. Compare the JSON and XML side by side.
