IPAM : Java Glossary

IPAM
IPAM (Internet Protocol Address Management). A tool for managing a pool of IP (Internet Protocol) addresses. They are doled out via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). They are used by DNS (Domain Name Service). It has to manage both IPv4 (Internet Protocol Version 4) and IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) style IPs. An IPAM appliance ties it all together.
