Easter eggChristians adopted the pagan fertility symbol, the rabbit, and taught their children a myth similar to the Santa Claus myth that there is a giant rabbit, the Easter bunny, that lays coloured, candy and chocolate eggs and brings them to children each Easter. These eggs are often hidden in gardens for children to find.
Metaphorically, teams of programmers sometimes hide an Easter egg inside a computer program. It consists mainly of a long list of everyone who contributed to the project. It is sometimes decorated with graphics, animations and music. You have to hit some obscure undocumented series of keystrokes to see it.
None of my programs have Easter eggs. Because I distribute source, they would be far too easy to find.
