Sun Studio
née Forté, then One Studio now called simply Sun Studio 11 or Sun Studio Standard. Sun’s IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for developing Java applications. It contains a debugger. The download is a whopping 88 MB. Make sure you set your MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail) type for EXE to include magnus-internal/cgi since Sun’s servers sometimes use this freakish MIME type. The package takes almost 3 minutes to load on a 233 MHz 256 MB machine! I have not seen times this slow since the days of paper tape. It is now free, but the optional support costs  $864.00 USD a year. It handles EE (Enterprise Edition) and Enterprise beans. There are two other editions the Enterprise and Sun Studio Creator, the RAD (Rapid Application Development) tool for cranking out GUIs. All three are based on the NetBeans core. All three and NetBeans are free.
