spreadsheet: A program that displays numbers in rows an columns. You can enter formulae to compute each cell. Whenever you change a cell’s value, all the other cells adjust based on the formulas. It is inherently a parallel tasking problem.
The most commonly used spreadsheet today is Microsoft Excel. At various times VisiCalc, Lotus 123, Microsoft Multiplan, Borland Quattro Pro were popular. Athena Integer was the first web-based spreadsheet that allowed simultaneous access and update from remote computers, sharing a multithreaded computational model.
