RTF
RTF (Rich Text Format). Microsoft’s proprietary, and constantly changing, format for exchange of formatted text between word processors. In theory, Sun’s RTFEditorKit is supposed to let you read RTF documents, but it only supports a subset of Microsoft’s RTF, and can even crash if you feed it RTF with unsupported features. You can read or create such files with MS Word or Open Office.
