2ME Personal Profile is a set of Java API (Application Programming Interface)s that supports resource-constrained devices e.g. handhelds/cell phones with a GUI (Graphic User Interface) toolkit based on AWT (Advanced Windowing Toolkit). Combined with the Connected Device Configuration (CDC (Control Data Corporation)), J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) Personal Profile provides a complete J2ME application environment for consumer products and embedded devices. In contrast, MIDP (Mobile Information Device Profile) is not a subset of AWT. Personal profile in common on PDA (Personal Digital Assistant)s and PDA/cells. MIDP in common on pure cell phones.
