JSQL : Java Glossary

JSQL
JSQL (Java Standard Query Language) is a joint venture between IBM (International Business Machines), Tandem arnd Oracle to build a more programmer-friendly SQL (Standard Query Language) interface that JDBC (Java Data Base Connectivity). JSQL calls for automatic mapping of SQL types to Java objects, thereby producing bridges between the two languages, in addition to delineating methods for checking at application compile-time to make sure that SQL and Java types match. I saw a demo at the Colorado Summit. I was not impressed. We have a long way to go to get a decent SQL interface to Java.
