Intel Media Framework, Java Edition : Java Glossary

I have left this tombstone entry for historical interest.
Intel Media Framework
Sometimes known as IMF (Intel Media Framework), MFJ (Media Framework for Java) or JMF (Java Media Framework). IMF is defunct though JMF is still alive. It was a set of classes to support video and audio on Windows 95 and NT. The native classes transparently took advantage of the Intel MMX (Multi-Media extension) processor instructions.
