exe : Java Glossary

exe
In DOS/W3.1/OS2/W95/W98/Me/NT/W2K/XP/W2003/Vista/W7-32/W7-64 native executables all have the extension *.exe. Internally there are three different formats: 16-bit, 32-bit and 64-bit. They are more or less self-contained. All you need do is double click them to launch them. There are many ways of getting this same effect with Java code described in the native compiler entry.
