Here is an email I received in response to one of my essays.
I thought of it, but immediately realised the notion is absurd. Why?
The invasion and occupation of Iraq is illegal.
~ Kofi Annan (1938-04-08 age:80)Secretary General and Boutros Boutros-Ghali (1922-11-14 2016-02-16 age:93) former Secretary General of the U.N.
I think in this case international law stood in the way of doing the right thing.
~ Richard Perle (1941-09-16 age:76), 2003-11-20, Pentagon hawk, cat-stroking, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, James Bond villain pasty lookalike, admitting the Iraq war is illegal.
A prima facie case can be made that the United States is guilty of the supreme crime against humanity, that being an illegal war of aggression against a sovereign nation.
~ Benjamin Ferencz (1920-03-11 age:98) Chief Prosecutor for the United States in The Einsatzgruppen Case at the Nazi Nuremberg War Crimes Trials.
We have no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with the September 11th attacks.Lots of people believe that because of Cheney’s dissembling:
~ George W. Bush (1946-07-06 age:71),, 2003-09-17, audio.
How Bush and his junta succeeded in deflecting America’s anger from bin Laden to Saddam Hussein is one of the great public relations conjuring tricks of history. But they swung it. A recent poll tells us that one in two Americans now believe Saddam was responsible for the attack on the World Trade Centre.
~ John le Carré (1931-10-19 age:86)
If they turn on the radars we’re going to blow up their goddamn SAMs (Service to Air Missiles) (surface-to-air missiles). They know we own their country. We own their airspace… We dictate the way they live and talk. And that’s what’s great about America right now. It’s a good thing, especially when there’s a lot of oil out there we need.
~ General William R. Looney III U.S. Brigadier General, Washington Post, 1999-08-30; referring, in reality, to the mass-murder of hundreds of civilian Iraqi men, women and children during 10,000 sanction bombing sorties in the first eight months of 1999.
Your husband is a sadistic pervert. Iraq is no threat to the USA. He chose to go to Iraq to have fun hunting, torturing and maiming people who are no threat to America. Of all the things he could have done with his life, that thug chose mayhem. You know perfectly well that you married a serial killer, but you just can’t face what a chump you were to fall for such a bastard, so you lie to yourself yourself with preposterous excuses for his criminal behaviour. You are little better that Karla Homolka You egg him on just as Karla egged on Paul Bernardo. May you finally face the depths of your and your husband’s depravity and puke your guts out for months at the realisation.
No one likes the war but like it or not its happening and you cant blame every soldier for what some do.
The way the law look at is this. The guy who drives the getaway car in a bank robbery is just as guilty of murder as the guy who pulls the trigger. He was aiding and abetting criminal enterprise. So even if your husband did nothing more to help than peel potatoes, in the eyes of the law, he should still swing, since he is aiding and abetting an illegal aggressive war. Granted, in practice, normally only the big fish or the exceptionally sadistic are successfully prosecuted for their war crimes.
Even if your husband has not yet gone to Iraq and killed anyone, he is just as guilty as any pervert who has already bought his ticket for a child sex tour. He has already shown criminal intent. Terrorists don’t have to actually succeed before we consider them guilty of a crime.
Terrorism : killing civilians with the intent of changing their political affiliation.
~ Caleb Carr (1955-08-02 age:62), military historian
I would modify that definition slightly. I don’t think nuts who act completely on their own should count as terrorists. I think they need to be associated with an organisation to count as terrorists.
So, strange as it sounds to American ears, the American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are just as much terrorists as bin Laden.
If the shoe fits, wear it. You married a terrorist.
In any case, if the Christians are right about after death judgement, you two won’t be needing warm clothes. Your lame excuses for murdering, torturing and maiming children could not possibly wash to a being who can look into your heart.
My views may not be mainstream in your part of the world (they are where I live), but I don’t travel to the other side of the globe on safari to hunt and kill other people’s children. That is weird! What makes your husband really sick is you Americans do it for sport. These kids have no means to harm you or your chidren even if they wanted to. Pleading self-defence make no more sense than Americans going on safari to kill lions in self-defence or muggers killing their victims in self-defence. Also recall that Germans who questioned the legality of Hitler’s invasion of Poland were also considered weird. Anyone who questions the immoral or illegal actions of his own country risks his life, so most people pretend to approve. Some people are simply too stupid to notice because they have no minds of their own. They are like cows, always mindlessly following the herd.
my husband is only 22 we have 2 children he joined 3 years ago he hasn’t gone over yet and does not want to at all! we both are very upset about it we have a 2 year old and a 1 month old he is upset he wont be here for his daughter’s first birthday and will not be re-enlisting into the army. what do you want us to do move to Canada so he doesn’t have to go away from all his and my family? so I don’t egg him on to go
Of course, there are disadvantages to going to Iraq. I list a number of them in my essay. Your husband was certainly aware of them when he enlisted, but the lure of mayhem overrode. Similarly there are disadvantages to marrying a soldier. However, the ancient lure of being married to a physically fit killer overrode your logic.
You are in much the position of a young wife in Nazi Germany. Everyone you socialise with approves of conquering other countries and in the inherent superiority of your race and its inherent right to manage the affairs of lesser peoples. Even though logically you may realise this is nonsense, it is hard for you to even imagine contradicting. However, what would you have expected of a young Nazi wife? You would have expected her he to get her family out of that situation, by any means necessary. Have you ever seen Sound of Music? It is based on a true story of someone in just that situation. I expect no less of you.
Bush has intimidated Canada into letting goons come into our country and kidnap anyone they think might be a deserter (even Canadian citizens) without any sort of hearing or permission. So Canada is no longer a safe haven. Consider Germany, France, the Netherlands or Sweden.
Lt. Ehren Watada was an exceptionally dense young soldier who did not realise how wrong America was until he was about to be shipped to Iraq. He then had no choice but to do the right thing and refuse to kill and face court martial. We expected nothing less of Nazis, even though they faced death as a consequence. Your husband will not be executed. Your husband enlisted after war had been raging for 3 years. The WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction) and other lies used to justify the war had already been exposed. He enlisted with eyes open. He has already committed a war crime just by enlisting knowing he would likely be sent to Iraq. He can’t expect to get off Scott free without any consequences even if he has not killed anyone yet. He is already guilty of a minor international war crime. The time for avoiding this predicament was three years ago. He has made his blood-soaked bed. If he is not prepared to die in it, he has to work a lot harder to get out of it than had he resisted the urge to enlist three years ago.
You reek of Nazi thinking. You believe going to Iraq is OK because the husbands of all the wives you hang out with are doing it too. The Nazis at the end of WWII (World War II) were extremely surprised to discover they faced hanging. To a man they felt that being ordered to kill got them off the hook. It doesn’t.
If they turn on the radars we’re going to blow up their goddamn SAMs (surface-to-air missiles). They know we own their country. We own their airspace… We dictate the way they live and talk. And that’s what’s great about America right now. It’s a good thing, especially when there’s a lot of oil out there we need.
~ General William R. Looney III U.S. Brig. General Washington Post, 1999-08-30; referring, in reality, to the mass-murder of hundreds of civilian Iraqi men, women and children during 10,000 sanction bombing sorties in the first eight months of 1999.
It is a sign of returning sanity that your husband is having second thoughts about butchering other people’s children for no reason other than Bush gets off on the suffering of children and that their parents have the temerity to refuse to evacuate the land over America’s oil
Depopulation should be the highest priority of foreign policy towards the third world, because the US economy will require large and increasing amounts of minerals from abroad, especially from less developed countries.
~ Henry Kissinger (1923-05-27 age:94)
|some of the Iraqi children your husband plans to kill
You have done nothing but offer up lame excuse after lame excuse for why I should approve of your husband going to Iraq to kill children. Read the very first two sentences that you ever wrote to me. The only reason you gave against going to Iraq were purely selfish ones, that your husband would miss his kids and you would miss your husband. That has nothing at all to do with the necessity, legality or morality of your husband’s planned career as a government hit man in Iraq.
i said i hate the idea and i dont want him to go and he didn’t join because he wanted to kill people he did it for other reasons that i dont really need to share with you. Do you really think everyone goes over there sayin i cant wait to kill children no they dont, but i really dont know what else to say to you cuz you have a one tracked mind and that’s that all i was tryin to say is that not every soldier are blood thirsty of course there are some out there but mine isn’t one of them but i am just wasting my time with this
Of course, neither of you are honest enough to express your desire to kill out loud, but that what is in your heart. There are no valid reasons, absolutely none, for going to Iraq. Every excuse Bush offered has been exposed as a lie. All you offered are vague, lame excuses for sadism. You know perfectly well you have no leg to stand on or you would not be so reluctant to explain why your husband enlisted. Perhaps he fed you the financial excuse line, that the only possible job open to him was going to Iraq. He could use that same excuse for joining the Mafia or becoming a drug dealer. Surely you would not have bought it. He is planning to do far more killing than he would working for the Mafia or as a drug dealer. He would not have been killing mostly kids as he will in Iraq. You are kidding only yourself when you buy such lame excuses for cruelty.
Of course, every American soldier in Iraq is blood thirsty. Any ordinary person would avoid such a hell-hole by all means imaginable, especially knowing their job will be to torture people to death, used banned weapons that kill as slowly and painfully as possible and kill mostly kids. You would have be utterly depraved to volunteer for that. Of all possible things your husband could have done with his life, he chose to go to Iraq where he could rape, kill and torture mostly children, with little danger of legal reprisals, (not that he is fully up for all three). He is a very sick man. You love him, so you are in deep denial about this fundamental flaw in his character. Why do you let a man who fantasises about killing other people’s kids anywhere near your own?
I can tell you are getting rattled because your spelling and grammar deteriorates further with each email. That’s a good sign. At least now you might examine just why you approve of your husband’s plans to become an international war criminal and why he has truly chosen this path.
What would you think of a woman who married a serial killer then covered up for her husband, salved his conscience and enabled him to continue his killing spree? You might be dumbfounded someone could be so selfish, so cold hearted, so stupid. Is she so afraid of him she is terrified to speak up. Is she utterly addicted to him and she is completely convinced that he will leave if she tells him what he is doing is wrong? You might despise her with the depth of your being.
|this is my friend over there not killing children
The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46)
Just what is your friend doing in this picture? I would not want my kids anywhere near a stranger, especially an occupying foreign soldier, even supervised. You can’t tell from a photo like that if someone is a child rapist or killer. Think of how many times on the nightly news when the neigbours of some whacko who went postal describe him as polite and kindly. His mother asserts he wouldn’t hurt a flea. Unlike Hollywood, murderers don’t have some distinguishing mark, like green saliva. They look perfectly ordinary. Howevever, we do know that soldier in the photo signed on to kill kids. It is in the contract. Whether he has actually killed any yet or not we don’t know, but we do know has already agreed to do it. That is party what makes this photo so creepy. It is a bit like Hannibal Lecter dandling a baby in his lap.
You seem to be claiming this propaganda photo is evidence that the USA does not kill kids in Iraq. Perhaps you are suggesting a child killer would never find time to pose with children. Saddam did. Your claim is utterly absurd. I hardly know where to begin.
Let’s start with your own first hand evidence from your own two eyes that you cannot deny. You and your husband, like nearly every American, surely saw Shock & Awe live on CNN (Cable News Network) the opening day of the Iraq war, 2003-03-20. Bush promised the Iraqis he would liberate, but instead bombed the residential sections of Baghdad. You saw it with your own two eyes. I will never forget it. I watched in the company of crying, screaming Iraqi ex-patriates watching their friends being killed before their eyes. They felt utterly betrayed. Do you imagine those apartment buildings were all empty? Like all third world countries, most people in Iraq are under 15 years old. Thus when you blindly bomb buildings, you kill mostly kids.
Later the US army sealed the city of Fallujah and utterly flattened it with bombs. Surely you have seen photos. How do you imagine they managed that without killing most of the city’s children? America’s cowardy remote-control style of war necessarily kills mostly childen.
Then there are the statistics, particularly those from peer-reviewed journals. I find these highly convincing though I understand you are likely to dismiss them as propaganda and swallow press releases from the PR (Public Relations) department of the Pentagon as literal truth. In a court case, normally you seek testimony from independent witnesses, not the accused.
A Pentagon spokesman announced on PBS (Public Broadcasting System) they have a quota of 30 civilians for every high value military target. If an American soldier wants to kill more than 30 civilians to kill a resistance fighter, he is supposed to get permission. That is roughly 15 kids per Iraqi resistance fighter killed. You saw this policy in action live on TV when the US military killed civilians living within a block of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Your country has spend $3 trillion on this war. They didn’t spend it on candy. They spent it on the cruelest, most sophisticated weapons ever created. Wars always kill kids. This one is no exception. Americans have spent on every Iraqi man woman and child to make their lives a living hell. Imagine what misery someone could create for your family with a budget.
Then there are the photos. How do you know that Americans committed these crimes? Because the Iraqis don’t have access to the banned weapons such as napalm, white posphonus, depleted uranium and cluster bombs that the Americans use. Americans are the ones who set up checkpoint and spray cars with thousands of bullets. The resistance can’t afford to be that wasteful. The resistance fight of off the illegal invaders mainly with home-made roadside bombs.
Then you conveniently forgot about Abu Graib and the photos that have been all over the TV news. You forgot about the several PBS Frontline documentaries that exposed the USA for routinely torturing every detainee, including children. You forgot that even after the USA commandeered all of Saddam’s torture dungeons it still had to build more for its McDonald’s approach to torture. If there is hell, woman, you are going to suffer eternally the pain your husband is about to inflict on innocent Iraqi kids, perhaps by enduring watching those same vile deeds he will be forced to do to your own children.
