ex-gay : Gay & Black Glossary

ex-gay
Fradulent Christian organisations that claim they can turn homosexuals into heterosexuals through prayer, exorcism and assorted Christian magic.

Evangelist Terry Winter sent me four books on the process. At best a gay male can cut down the amount of homosexual activity by white-knuckling it, but he can’t cut it out entirely. Doing this increases desire. There is no way to decrease desire or to change sexual orientation even one iota.

The groups push the unfortunate gay into marriage with a female. The wife, who acted out of charity, is then humiliated repeatedly with his relapses and spurning. These meddling fools manage to destroy both lives. Had they simply left the gay man alone, he would develop self acceptance naturally by picking it up from his peers.

Three leaders of one such group, Exodus, finally had to admit defeat after decades without a single success. They ruined many lives driving their clients to suicide and self-mutilation. They felt so ashamed of their foolishness, they made a public apology. However, the Exdus organisation continues its evil work unabated.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
