I found your website a few years ago when I was in the turmoil of religion and depression. It helped a lot.

I’m still often cynical and nearly on par with nihilism at times, but your collection of thoughts work well for me at times when I’m feeling at my most down about things. It is not often that I find a website where you can experience the sense of a person at a great depth and I am grateful for your efforts. Your website is at times very moving and the varied topics are a marvellous diversion from despair in the sense that they stick closely to the reality of the issues without unwittingly trivialising them.

I spend a fair bit of time contemplating the breaker aspects of existence. However I have three things that keep me afloat.

  1. I started gay lib in Vancouver back in 1969 when even nearly all the gays were opposed. It looked utterly hopeless, but I persisted, and within a few years we had the first gay rights legislation. I could not believe how such universal rock-like attitudes could so suddenly melt. Every other problem seems trivially easy in comparison. However, I have since discovered that greed is an even more tenacious glue than religion to hold old attitudes in place.
  2. I have had years of living love training.
  3. My mom gave be extreme conditioning to do what I think is right not what the majority think is expedient.
