DUN : Java Glossary

DUN (Dialup Networking). Microsoft’s term for the software in Windows 95 that attaches a PC (Personal Computer) to the Internet via a dial up SLIP (Serial Line Interface Protocol) or PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) link. By default, the Windows dialer behaves idiotically spawning either none, or duplicate copies of itself which interfere with each other and disconnect the session. There are three solutions,
  1. Dump Microsoft.
  2. get an ADSL or cable 24-hour connection.
  3. get Dunce.
