SitePal : Java Glossary

The CurrCon Java Applet displays prices on this web page converted with today’s exchange rates into your local international currency, e.g. Euros, US dollars, Canadian dollars, British Pounds, Indian Rupees… CurrCon requires an up-to-date browser and Java version 1.8, preferably 1.8.0_131. If you can’t see the prices in your local currency, Troubleshoot. Use Firefox for best results.

now called Illustrated Characters, animated characters for your website that speak scripts you give to them in a reasonably lifelike way. It is service that starts at $10.00 USD a month. They provide the server. You embed a  Flash logo  Flash link. It speaks either via text-to-speech, or using pre-recorded mp3s. I did not see anything about how you set up dynamically generated content, but presumably that is possible too because even in this demo you can type in anything you want. You can, to some extent, compose the appearance your own animated lip-synching characters with an identi-kit choose-the-hair, dress your cut-out-doll thing.Click view Source in your browser to see the object-embed HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) to trigger the demo. Click learn more in the demo below to learn how it works.

Type something in the box below and click speak to see it work. You may need to give permission to see the following demo on the Flash Security panel that pops up if there is trouble. The panel looks deceptively like a help page, but it is the actual Flash Control Panel implemented as an HTML form.
