Pens today have atrocious quality. They often do not work, even when brand new. They skip. They have a scratchy feel. They stop working after a few days. However, I have found one pen that flows smoothly, has a textured rubbery grip, has a smooth feel and is retractable. It is called the Uniball Signo gel pen aka Uniball 307 or Uniball 207.
