Objective Morality

Objective morality is an oxymoron. Morality is a value, a type of thought, something inside the mind. Objective means an object in the world that exists independent of any mind. People sometimes try to claim the bible contains an objective morality, but since Christians pick and choose from it what they please and interpret it as they please, it is not even a common morality. Every other religion has such a divine moral code too. There is nothing special about the Christian one. Further, all it represents is the moral thinking of ignorant animal herders 3000 years ago. There is no reason to suppose their ideas are any better than ours. In fact, every Christian I have ever met uses modern morality and ignores biblical morality, (with the exception of dutifully tormenting (but not killing) homosexuals) while thundering about the absolute perfection of God’s word.
