Types of War

Some of the types of war:

• defensive war: attacking a country that attacks you.
• preemptive war: attacking a country you are a convinced will attack you any minute.
• preventive war: attacking and destroying a country you think might at some point in the distant future become a rival.
• aggressive war: attacking a country that did not attack you, presumably to steal its resources and/or territory. All the Nazis hanged at the end of WWII (World War II) were charged with the same crime, namely aiding and abetting an aggressive war.

Any country that belongs to the UN (United Nations) signed a treaty saying it would never resort to war, except defensive. Of course the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) countries, especially the USA, do it all the time. Who is powerful enough to stop them? With the precedent set, presumably so will China when they become the #1 superpower.
