Imagination and Rehearsal  Imagination and Rehearsal

Imagination and rehearsal techniques are never named explicitly in the living love literature, even though they are used extensively in workshops.

You imagine what life would be like without an addiction. If you can’t imagine yourself in that state, imagine someone else, e.g. a laid-back friend, Ken Keyes, Gandhi, the Buddha… in a situation you have trouble with. Then rehearse in your mind, or in a skit how that change in consciousness might change your behaviours.

This helps provide motivation for getting rid of an addiction. It also lets you “fake it before you make it”, changing and rehearsing behaviours in your real life before you have fully reprogrammed the addiction. As Tony Robbins points out, action creates motivation.
