If you read the teachings of Jesus, you would expect Christianity to have a salutary effect on the behaviour of Christians. But the very opposite is true. Why?

- People are attracted to the vindictive craziness of the old testament rather than the difficult teachings of Jesus.
- The church does not preach the teachings of Jesus. They preach all manner of other doctrines that let them sell their political and financial agenda (such as Republicanism and tithing get rich quick scams) to the pre-softened sheeple.
- Christians imagine they are good simply by being Christians e.g. having been saved in a ceremony. That means it is easy for them to skip the hard word of actually being good.Matthew 16:27 points out “he shall reward every man according to his works” Belief is irrelevant. Nearly all Christians ignore this verse since it requires work.
