Christians fail to notice there is no evidence at all, zilch, to support the outlandish claims made in the bible. There is plenty of evidence the claims are false. Why then do Christians cling so desperately to these tall tales?

- For the same reason they buy lottery tickets. Even they know the odds are minuscule the claims of the bible will turn out to be true, but if they did, they would pay in spades. They are attached to the fantasy.
- To give themselves a sense of importance by proxy, for much the same reason people brag they once sold a soft drink to Michael Jackson. Pretending that the creator of the universe takes time out each day to consult with you is a delusion of grandeur, but the psychosis is so common that people can indulge in this bit of insanity with little risk of incarceration. Some people even risk cocaine to indulge the same sorts of grandiose fantasies.
