To use this, it may be best to add the following lines near the start of java/bin/.java_wrapper, under the first set of comments:
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5

Red Hat works with either the default OpenJava or with Oracle Java without problems, except that Derby (the mini SQL (Standard Query Language) database) is missing.
