The full Business Java language with the enterprise communications stripped out of it (no remote RMI (Remote Method Invocation)). It also has no security breakout. It still contains the AWT (Advanced Windowing Toolkit) GUI (Graphic User Interface), but not the enormous Swing of course. This is the Java you might see in a pocket organiser. It is now obsolete and has been replaced by Java ME.
