MNP Class 2 : Java Glossary

MNP Class 2
Nearly all MNP (Microcom Network Protocol) modems have at least class 2 level support. Here the modems use an asynchronous byte-at-a-time, full-duplex (simultaneous send-receive) method. The protocol efficiency is about 84%. A 2400 BPS (Bits Per Second) modem will realise a throughput of about 2000 BPS.
