Repealing Obamacare

Trump sold his base on the importance of repealing Obamacare on three grounds:

• Racism. Obamacare was created by a black man. It was dirty and thus had to go.
• Callousness. It subsidised the health care of the poor. It was better to let the poor die because they were black or Democrcat. This would make it easier to elect Republican politicians.
• Cost. Subsidising health care was expensive. If you did not do it, you could give massive tax cuts to the wealthy.

So Trump lied to his base and promised universal health care than would cost less and that would be better quality. Then he tried to sneak past bills that did the exact opposite. They effectively repealed public health care altogether, throwing tens of millions of Americans into the streets without any health care. The American people were not fooled. Almost no one approved of Trumpcare.
