If the Nazis had won WW II, the post-war German politicians would have argued for “moving forward” and “avoiding a witchhunt” because too many powerful people were involved in the genocide of the Jews, just as today American politicians argue for “moving forward” and “avoiding a witchhunt” because so many Americans were involved in torture and other war crimes.
