DynDNS notifies the global DNS lookup of the change, and because of the short TTL (Time To Live in cache) of the DNS name, the change effectively propagates though the entire global DNS lookup system in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately, some of the world’s DNS servers run Windows, which fails to track updates. They won’t notice changes until they are periodically rebooted.
