DOM

DOM (Document Object Model) processing reads an entire XML (extensible Markup Language) file into RAM (Random Access Memory) and converts it to a tree. It is part of Sun’s JAXP (Java Api for Xml Processing) classes for manipulating XML files. DOM supports two scheme languages XSD (XML Scheme Definition) and RELAX NG. You can invoke them with:

DOM also refers to JavaScript/Java interactions where Java Applets can find out about and modify the page they are embedded in.
