CORBA : Java Glossary

CORBA
CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) is the OMG (Object Management Group) platform-independent technique for programs running on different machines to communicate with each other. Normally you would use lighter weight Java-only RMI (Remote Method Invocation), unless you are tying into legacy C++/Corba systems.
