I have a quite different way of looking at the outer philias. I ask, what is it that I want these people to do? Most people want to make their lives as miserable as possible no matter what they do. They hate them just for existing. I ask, what sacrifice can I reasonably expect of these people to satisfy the demands of society? I think, if I were in their position, what would be fair both to them and to society? So for example, I have no problem with pedophiles looking at pornographic art work they created themselves out of their imagination. No children are harmed. It is not society’s business.
