Here is an email I received in response to one of my essays.

Cough. The spelling and logic skill you have exhibited in your email are not consistent with that claim, unless you mean some correspondence bible school college.
I am sure as you are reading this, your gut reaction is that I am a looser who has no other options.

If my arguments are convincing, why aren’t you convinced? Surely my arguments stand independent of any of my personal failings. Perhaps you wrote because in your heart you know I am right and you just need a little more convincing to to help stand against the pressure you are receving from ignorant or evil folk pushing you to enlist, or your own dark side. If it is inappropriate to get emotional about killing and torturing children, then what is it appropriate to get emotional about? It is a Darwinian imperative to be concerned about the welfare of children. Any society that fails to do that perishes. It is you who are being irrational. To deal with the brutal reality of what your country has done, you have numbed your natural emotions and dissociated, much the way a schizophrenic deals with an overwhelming reality or overwhelming guilt.
The fact is, our troops, no I’m sorry MY, a.k.a. American troops are there dying everyday. You can argue up and down about how wrong the war is and how illegal it is according the the UN (United Nations) but that does not change the fact that the war is still going on.

The Iraq war is also illegal according to the Geneva conventions and according to the Nuremberg principles. Your country signed treaties which is it violating. It is not just a matter of opinion. It is a matter of international law. The USA is reneging on its word. Does that not make you feel ashamed, to live in a country that welches on its agreements? If you participate in the Iraq war, you will become an international war criminal. Your particular crime is called aiding and abetting an aggressive war. It is a capital offence. If the USA fails to continue to protect you from prosecution, you could be hanged or imprisoned for life. There is no statute of limitations. Some Nazis were not brought to justice until they were kidnapped and tried while they were in their 90s. This very email might be used in evidence against you to prove criminal intent.
True, we invaded under false pretences and sadly 100,000 iraqi citizens have died, but we are doing what we can to hold this country together.

The Nazis did not routinely torture all POWs (Prisoner Of Wars). They did not use banned weapons like napalm, white phosphorus and cluster bombs. America does in both Iraq and Afghanistan. It is easy to agree with the UN (who, by the way can barely hold itself together) as there is no doubt that the war has been a controversial subject from day one, but what’s done is done. Furthermore, at the time the war started Annon did not declair the war illegal.

I did not say the Nazis were angels, just that they did not routinely torture all POWs the way you American do. I consider torturing people a more egregious crime than executing them in gas chambers. I have talked to Iraqi ex-patriates. They talk to their relatives back home. They feel betrayed by the USA. American promised liberation and it gave them Shock & Awe and endless occupation. I sat with them on the first of the war watch you Americans bomb to ratshit familiar Baghdad neighbourhoods live on CNN (Cable News Network). They screamed and wailed of betrayal.
