Even if someone gave me a new car, I would not want it. Why?

- I don’t want to add to pollution and greenhouse gases.
- If I had a car, I would bike and walk less. I am enough of a couch potato already.
- I would be at the mercy of fiendish car repair people who could repair my car, do nothing, or even deliberate damage it and charge me whatever they felt like. I would have no way of knowing how or how badly they were ripping me off. This was my experience owning a new Renault 12 in the early 1970s.
